Did you know that during and after breast cancer treatment, clinical studies show that many women experience the following survivorship issues?

  • Reduced range of motion and function
  • Pain
  • Weakness
  • Fatigue
  • Arm, hand, and/or breast swelling, or lymphedema
  • Increased stress and relationship issues
  • Weight Gain
  • Difficulty returning to usual activities, roles, and exercise routines

These survivorship needs often go unrecognized. TurningPoint’s mission is to meet these needs and improve quality of life for women with breast cancer by providing, promoting and advocating specialized and evidence-based rehabilitation. TurningPoint Women’s Healthcare is a non-profit 501c3 organization.

TurningPoint Participates in the Development of Innovative Model of Breast Cancer Rehabilitation with the American Cancer Society.

TurningPoint Women's Healthcare is proud to be part of an international initiative that introduces an innovative model of breast cancer rehabilitation. The model proposes that all women receive rehabilitation assessment pre-operatively, early post-operatively and on an ongoing basis. The goal is to detect, reduce and manage the physical side effects of breast cancer treatment and encourage exercise. The  proposed model of rehabilitation was published in April, 2012 special supplement to the journal Cancer.
