Jill Binkley

Jill Binkley, PT, MSc, CLT, FAAOMPT founded TurningPoint in 2003. She is Executive Director of TurningPoint and a breast cancer survivor. She has over 25 years experience in orthopaedic physical therapy and manual therapy and has taught undergraduate and post-graduate physical therapy courses. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy. Jill is a clinical researcher and has published extensively in journals including Physical Therapy, Journal of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and Spine. Jill is a member of the oncology section of the American Physical Therapy Association and has presented locally, nationally and internationally on breast cancer rehabilitation.

Marcia Pearl

Dr. Marcia Pearl, PT, PhD, CLT is a breast cancer survivor and a physical therapist who has been engaged in practice for 35 years. She is a Physical Therapist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist working clinically at TurningPoint. Marcia is the former Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy at Georgia State University and is recognized nationally for her expertise in physical therapy management, administration and wound care. Marcia has volunteered with the Good Samaritan Clinic in Atlanta, and with migrant farm workers in Colquitt County Georgia. She is a former President of the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia.

Ann Fort, JD is a Partner in Sutherland Asbill and Brennan LLP’s Intellectual Property Practice Group and a seasoned litigator involved in complex civil matters. Ann Fort has protected the intellectual property rights of numerous clients in the United States and abroad. Her comprehensive experience encompasses patent infringement, licensing disputes, trade secret protection and unfair competition. In addition to trying cases in both federal and state courts, Ann works toward alternative dispute resolution, when feasible, and has represented clients in arbitrations and mediations. With a focus on the technology industry, Ann’s work has included cases involving medical information systems, interactive television program guides, computer network security and pharmaceuticals. She also represents insurers and financial services businesses in a wide range of disputes. Ann, who serves as chair of Sutherland’s Electronic Discovery Committee, also advises businesses on electronic discovery preparedness and the management of electronically stored information. An active leader in Sutherland’s pro bono program, Ann recently achieved clemency for a pro bono client on death row. She represented him for more than 11 years before he was ultimately granted clemency just hours before execution in April 2008. She is a frequent speaker on the topic of pro bono legal service and about this experience, in particular. Ann received her Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, and her JD from University of Virginia School of Law.

Karen Fortune, CPA/CFF, MACC is a partner in IAG Forensics, a Marietta, GA-based CPA firm, specializing in forensic accounting and investigations. Her experience is comprised of both public and private practice, having spent several years in public accounting and serving as a CFO for a biotechnology firm. She possesses extensive experience in financial reporting, auditing of both public and private companies, addressing complex accounting issues, evaluating and designing internal controls, and performing corporate investigations. An experienced public speaker, Karen has authored many articles on accounting and fraud-related topics. Karen earned her B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Florida’s Fisher School of Accounting. She also earned a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Florida in 1992. She holds a Certificate in Financial Forensics from the AICPA.

Angela Dotson

Angela Dotson, CPA is a senior manager in the Advisory and Business Services Group at Habif, Arogeti and Wynne, LLP. Angela provides tax services to corporations, partnerships and individuals. Angela has extensive experience in working with owners and managers of commercial real estate. She has developed expertise in the not for profit area and growth oriented medium sized businesses. Over her 10 year career, Angela has helped clients resolve issues with the Internal Revenue Service and various state agencies. Angela earned her Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters of Accounting (concentration in taxation) degrees from the Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Black Accountants. She is active in various civic organizations.

Mary Jo Duffy

Mary Jo Duffy is President of Physician & Nurse Licensing Services, a national firm that assists healthcare professionals with state licensing. She is a CPA with almost 30 years of experience who has spent much of her career in healthcare consulting, including working with physician practices and hospitals in merger & acquisition situations as Director of Financial Services to the Healthcare Industry for one of the “Big Four” accounting firms. A graduate of Georgetown University, Mary Jo has been active in the nonprofit community for many years. She currently serves as the Executive Vice President of the Board of CADEF: The Childhood Autism Foundation, is on the Advisory Board of the Emory Autism Center and is a Board Member of Who Ha Da Da, an organization committed to preserving the folk art genre in the South. She is a breast cancer survivor who was a patient at Turning Point in 2009.

John Guzowski

John Guzowski, CPA, is administrator at Peachtree Spine Physicians in Atlanta. He has extensive experience in providing financial and advisory services in the healthcare, telecom and technology industries. After graduating from the University of Southern California with a BS in Accounting, he worked with public accounting firms including Deloitte & Touche. He has served as the Treasurer of Hands on Atlanta, the VP of Finance at MediZeus and a teacher of courses on non-profit accounting at the Non-Profit Resource Center.

Theron M. Jones
Dentist and Owner, Sandtown Family Dentistry
Dr. Theron Jones, DMD, MPP is a dentist in his own practice, Sandtown Family Dentistry in South Atlanta. Theron is a member of the Emory College Alumni Board and a Board Member of Kudos foundation that helps underprivileged youth work towards achieving their goal of entering healthcare professions. He has worked with the American Cancer Society in the past on an Oral Cancer Initiative in Massachusetts. He graduated from Emory University with his undergraduate degree, Medical College of Georgia with Doctor of Dental Medicine and has a master of Public Policy in Health Policy from UCLA. He is currently enrolled in an MBA program part-time at Georgia State University. Theron is married and has a 4 year old daughter.

Lawrence J. Lubin

Larry Lubin, MBA, is one of the top marketing strategists in the United States. A former U.S. State Department budget officer and University of Virginia MBA, he brings a unique combination of financial acumen and marketing creativity to his work. Larry also brings experience that covers marketing from both the perspective of corporate America and marketing agencies. His corporate marketing experience includes brand management for James River Paper, Nabisco Brands and M&M/Mars. Larry was also the Vice President of Innovations for the Brach’s candy company. His agency experience has involved major projects for Chevrolet, UPS, Unilever, Pennzoil, Hershey’s Chocolate, Discovery Channel and many more.

Terri Mowen-Ferrier
Registered Nurse and Fundraising Consultant
Terri Mowen-Ferrier, RN, BA, MA, recently moved to Atlanta from Chicago and is a former TurningPoint Women’s Healthcare patient. She is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of clinical experience. She has a Master’s Degree in communication and is a Professional Fundraising Consultant. For the past eleven years she has worked with a variety of non-profits as a professional grant writer and fundraiser. She has created fundraising strategies that include cultivating relationships with donors, grant research and writing, and hosting events. She is an avid golfer and currently the President of the Ladies Golf Association at Alpharetta Athletic Club.

Georgia Robinson
Clinical Nurse Specialist
Georgia Robinson, RN, MSN is a Registered Nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Health and Illness. She graduated from Columbia University in New York with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and from University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia with a Master’s of Science in Nursing. Georgia has worked as a Registered Nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialist at New York Hospital as well as Albert Einstein Medical Center and NACR in Philadelphia. Georgia was an RN/Office Manager at Neurosurgery/Spine Associates in Philadelphia from 1994-2002 and the Office Administrator at Peachtree Spine Physicians from 2003 through 2008. In these positions, Georgia has managed large projects, including developing an ambulatory surgery center and on-site MRI, implementation of electronic medical records and managed billing and collections and human resources. Georgia’s mother is a breast cancer survivor.

William (Bill) Stubblefield

Bill Stubblefield, BS, MBA received his MBA in marketing and finance from Northwestern University and BS degree from University of Dubuque. He was a Captain in the United States Army with duty assignments as a counter-intelligence officer in West Germany and South Vietnam. He was Chairman and CEO of Medical Graphics Corporation, a manufacturer of computerized diagnostic instrumentation for the detection of heart and lung diseases as well as President and COO of Endotronics, Inc., both publicly traded companies. Bill has also served in several management positions with American Hospital Supply Corporation, including Director of Strategic and Operational Planning, Vice President of Marketing for the Scientific Products Industrial Division and President of one of the corporation’s manufacturing divisions. Bill has served on a number of healthcare boards, including Metropolitan Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Hilton Head Hospital, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Most recently, Bill served on the board of the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic on Hilton Head Island, a non-profit volunteer-operated free medical clinic providing health and wellness services to the medically underserved in the Hilton Head Island area. Bill is now retired and living in the Atlanta area. His wife, Alice, is a breast cancer survivor.

Rebekah Wasserman

Rebekah Wasserman, BSc, MPT, is a graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Zoology and received her Masters in Physical Therapy from Emory University. She worked as a physical therapist with Piedmont Hospital and the Piedmont Arthritis Center for over 10 years. Rebekah is a past board member with the Arthritis Foundation and has been an active community and school volunteer over the past 20 years. Her most recent volunteer activities have been with Sope Creek Elementary School and Pace Academy. Rebekah and her husband, Mark, have two sons and reside in East Cobb.

Rick Wilson

Dr. Rick Wilson, PT, PhD is Associate Professor and Interim Chair of Physical Therapy at Georgia Health Sciences University (formerly Medical College of GA) in Augusta. He graduated from University of Maryland with a BS in zoology and from the University of Alabama in Birmingham with a master of science degree in physical therapy. Rick earned a PhD in education from the University of Virginia. A Viet Nam era Army veteran, Rick later served as a physical therapist during the Gulf War before retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1996. He was a founding faculty member of the physical therapy programs at Western Carolina University and the University of South Florida. Rick is active in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Oncology Section of the APTA. His research focuses on the role of physical activity and exercise in cancer control and prevention. The ultimate goal of this work is to use physical rehabilitation assessment and intervention techniques to improve quality of life experienced by cancer survivors. Rick’s awards include a Doctoral Fellowship from the Air Force Institute of Technology, an Excellence in Clinical Research Award from the Sports Physical Therapy Section of APTA and the Linda Crane Research Award from the Florida Physical Therapy Association. He has 3 adult children and resides in Augusta, Georgia with Susan, his wife of 36 years.
