All TurningPoint clinicians are licensed professionals who blend clinical excellence with compassion. Services include:
PHYSICAL THERAPY:
Physical therapy includes hands-on stretching and manual therapy for joints and muscles that are stiff, painful and have lost range of motion after mastectomy, lumpectomy, radiation or reconstruction. Treatment is gentle and appropriate for each woman’s phase of recovery and treatment.
Lymphedema (arm, hand or breast swelling) is a condition that affects up to 25% of women following breast cancer treatment. Using evidence-based treatment techniques, our approach allows for early detection, monitoring and treatment of lymphedema. In addition to education about lymphedema, treatment may include massage, compression and exercise to reduce or control swelling.
Exercise is critical to wellness during and after the breast cancer journey and has been shown to decrease fatigue, increase quality of life, assist with weight control and reduce the risk of breast cancer recurrence. Individualized exercise programs are offered by our physical therapists to help our patients regain mobility and function and return to an active lifestyle.

MASSAGE THERAPY: Massage reduces tension, stress, stiffness and soreness in chest, arms and torso, and decreases pain and swelling. It has also been shown to increase immune system function in women with breast cancer.
COUNSELING SERVICES: Emotional health influences quality of life and response to treatment. Short-term counseling promotes stress management and coping skills.
NUTRITION SERVICES: Sound nutrition has been found to boost the immune system, assist women in achieving ideal body weight and may reduce the side-effects of chemotherapy.
EDUCATION PROGRAMS: Education programs provide current information on topics of interest to survivors and a forum to network with other women. For information about upcoming educational events, go to the events page.
