Thomas P. Smith, BS, MS is Board Secretary of TurningPoint. Thomas also serves on the Executive and The Pink Affair Committee. Thomas P. Smith is a seasoned public relations and communications practitioner, having worked across multiple industry sectors for more than two decades. Currently he advises entrepreneurs, along with healthcare and nonprofit clients in a consulting capacity, assisting them with strategic communications planning and execution, development and production of collateral materials, network marketing, social media, and traditional media relations.
Previously he worked for 11 years with the public relations firm A. Brown-Olmstead Associates as a senior account manager, and four years with the Metro Atlanta Chamber as a marketing/communications manager and director of public information.
His mother passed away from breast cancer in 1978, so TurningPoint’s mission resonates in a very personal way.
A Chicago native, he is a 1993 graduate of the School of Communications at Northwestern University where he majored in communication studies. He received a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University in 1995. He resides with his family, two dogs, and two cats in Atlanta.
