Gail Flanigan, PhD

Board Member

Gail Flanigan currently serves on the board of Turning Point. Dr. Flanigan is an educational psychologist with over 25 years’ experience working in the field of education and learning disabilities. Her professional experience includes working with children in special needs classrooms, staff development, psychoeducational testing, and university teaching. She has presented both nationally and internationally on topics of learning differences, differentiated instruction, ADHD, executive functioning and cognitive development. As a parent of two children with learning differences, she is a strong advocate for children with special needs.

In 2022, she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. After treatment, she turned to Turning Point for rehabilitation, receiving excellent care on her journey of healing. For Gail, giving back to an organization that so greatly helped her felt like an important part of the healing process.

A native of New York, she is a 1989 graduate of Boston College. After moving to Atlanta, she received a masters degree from Emory University and a PhD from Georgia State University. She currently resides in East Cobb with her husband, Tom, her two children, Michael and Tess, and a very spoiled Havanese named, Teddy.
