Valerie Wagner, PT, DPT is a first year board member at Turning Point. In early 2023 she underwent treatment for Stage 1 Breast Cancer and two of her colleagues, former TP patients, told her about Turning Point, urging her to go. She followed that advice and it was so impactful in her physical and emotional recovery that she wanted to get involved in supporting the mission of this special place. Even as a Physical Therapist for over 20 years Valerie did not realize what a difference breast cancer rehab would make for her. She is excited to help support the mission of Turning Point so that other breast cancer patients can also get the best care during such a scary time.
Valerie works as the Rehab Manager for Piedmont Cartersville Hospital where she also chairs the employee Wellness Committee. She is a member of the Academy of Oncologic Physical Therapy of the American Physical Therapy Association, and is also a member of the APTA Academy of Leadership & Innovation. A Buffalo, NY native, she received her B.S. from the University of Vermont’s Physical Therapy program and went on to earn her transitional DPT from A.T. Still University in 2008. She resides with her family, a dog, guinea pig, and fish in Kennesaw.
